Heading in from kawishiwi?

Caught a couple decent smallies and a pike on kawashong in limited fishing. Square caught a big smallie and a few small ones and a couple pike just moving through the area. On polly we caught a few smallies, pike and eyes spent two nights there. Leeches on jigs or slip bobbers caught the eyes mostly. A lot of the other fish were caught on blue/silver original raps, jitterbugs and a black and silver husky jerk. Fishing wasn't great on polly but we still caught some.

I went that way last year about that time. It was right at the beginning of the horrible heat wave though and most of the fishing was poor. Smallies were tearing anything up for a while though, leaches on bobbers, and plastic worms worked the best though. We had success by the falls on the south arm of malberg and we went all the way up to adams for a few days. The couple of rock piles on the north side of the main lake was good. I caught a couple of good northerns in adams while trolling some large x-raps and a deep tail dancer along a drop off. Walleye were almost non-existent while I was there.

Single portaging from Kawishiwi (EP37) around 6 hours at a somewhat leisurely pace. We're normally on the water around 6am and are at camp around 11-noon.
