I have never been to the Boundary Waters. I am taking my first trip for 5 days at the end of August to the beginning of September from entry point #30. What are the best fishing lakes around there? What are the fish hitting and in what depth? Has anyone here fished Insula? Any bass there?

Insula does have bass, but is known better for northerns and 'eyes. The numbered chain also has quite a few walleye.
