Nice interview, I live in Cincinnati and I know that they would never discuss these topics.

Interesting about using buzz baits late into the season.

Nice interview Mike, man do have I have a couple rivers up here That you would love to fish for smallies in the fall, its not unusual to get more than one over 20 inches in a day, they arent as heavy as their lake cousins of the same length, but man can they fight.

I liked the part where they asked you if you could stick around, they didn't pick up that you wanted to go fishing.

Nice job on the interview.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I do a radio interview every couple of months about the status of fishing the Great Miami River here in Ohio. I actually live on the river, my backyard has a levy bank at the end of it. Just did a round table discussion on the radio with a couple of other guys who fish the river this past Sunday.

The radio show just had someone cancel on them for an interview about fishing in Canada and they just decided to give me a call out of the blue since they knew I just got back from Quetico. They asked if I could do the interview and I said sure what time, they said right now, I said OK let's go.

BassPro69 - I would love to have a river down here like you have up there. I have only caught maybe 7 smallmouth out of my river 20 inches or more. I fished that river for 20 years before I caught my first one that went 20 inches. A really good smallmouth out of my river is anything 16 inches and over. I caught two 19 inchers on a Pop-R last Saturday, along with a 17 and a 16 inch smallie. Caught 24 total that morning. That is considered a great day on the Great Miami River.

I fish the Little Miami River and the sizes are about the same. A three pounder is a monster.

Good job Mike! Great to listen to...

I got to be on a radio show in the Chicago area once back in 1999 with a buddy of mine. Also had a few news crews interview us on some of the coldest days of Illinois ice fishing minus 26 with a wind chill of minus 50+.
