6 guys headed to Caribou and Little Caribou for some good fishing and good campsites over Labor Day weekend. I see that the one campsite on Little Caribou is nice, but what about others nearby? Any suggestions?
Would love to pull in some good meals of eyes for a change. An ideas on some good spots on these lakes?
Thanks.

Last year we had a site on the west side of Caribou across from the portage. Good site, if a little busy. Decent smallie and pike fishing directly across on the south side and around the weeds on the west end. Didn't target eyes and didn't get any. Heard there were eyes near the narrows between the lakes.

Those are great pike lakes but I don't know about Walleye's. Check out Vale lake when you are in Pine. Fish 10-14' of water with the smallest hook you have and a leech or fly and a bobber set to 4-5'
Expect Walleye's in the shallow's in the morning and evening 12-15' and in 25-30' suspended during the day. Don't get crazy with lures. Small hook, split shot or slip sinker, and light line. Walleye's are more light sensitive than they are water temp sensitive.
Good luck, the lakes you are going into are prime fishing lakes! Make sure to check out Johnson falls.

Good walleye fishing in the eastern bay not very deep anywhere in that the end the deepest spot is along the rock faces along south shore of the bay also good luck around the island and out from easternmost campsite and in the the narrows if you can keep bass and small pike off you bait. Good luck

Yes leeches on a jig . Or just jig with a yellow twister tail. Minnows would be great but tough to get in and keep alive . Slip bobbering is fun too. We always will have a line out when we are in camp. Little Caribou is a great spot for that .
