Had success on Kahshapiwi, Sarah, and Burke. Lakers were hitting baits that were about 10-20' down, water depth was always 35' +. Spoons worked best, with flatfish coming in a close second.
Caught several lake trout on Quetico Lake two weeks ago using a purpledescent Rapala Deep Down Husky Jerk with 8 lb Firewire line. I had 100 feet of line out.
We just returned from a 6 nighter. Caught Lakers on every lake we tried. They are deep. We were catching them over 50 ft of water. They seemed to prefer spoons, Williams warbler, krocodile, cleo blue/nickle, but we did catch several on rappalas, and swedish pimples. The key we found was keeping the lure wet and trolling, day break produced better than dusk.
