I have been trying to get to the BWCA for years to try Lake Trout fishing in the winter. To date, life continues to get in the way.

Anyway, are there any destinations that are reasonable for a day trip? Depending on conditions, I can either ski or snowshoe. I have a pulk I built from the plans at www.skipulk.com that I can use with either the skis or the snowshoes for gear hauling.

West Bearskin and Duncan are also good bets, along with Daniels and Clearwater.

I'd consider a hard push into JAP lake. Tought to beat on shear numbers of fish.
