I never have used bucktail jigs but now I'm excited to give them a shot! I usually stick to a normal jig or thumper jig.

Stick with the plain hook with one small sinker 3-4 feet away to catch walleye. Tip the hook with a leech, part of a crawler, or minnow.
If shallow and rocky, do not use any sinker.
PS-Is Kim your dad??

That's an approach I usually use as well. Especially in shallow water!

Ps Kim is my dad! I also remember meeting you a couple years ago at your baitshop in Ely. Great place, very good prices and you pointed us in the right direction for catching the fish. Thanks Jim!

Good advice but...followed up on some of the specifics mentioned, wayyyyyyyyyy pricey for me. Usually how it goes....
