I got out for two days last week. It might be the last time I fish on hard water for several months unless I can squeeze in a day of walleye or pike fishing on a border lake next week. There will certainly be plenty of ice. After a long snowmobile ride and a 2 mile snowshoe I got to one of my favorite trout holes. I caught several nice 4-6 pd trout on the second day. The first day the action wasn't as good but I did catch this heavy pre-spawn pike. The self timer went off before I was ready but I just wanted to get the big slimer back in the water so she could make a bunch of baby slimers. It almost felt like March and must have been 30 degrees out.
