With the late ice and heavy snow cover, who thinks we're going to see significant winterkill this winter?

winterkill due to low oxygen levels ? i believe this happens more often in shallow southern lakes than the BW area(not to say there aren't shallow lakes in the BW). and generally these type of lakes have a history of winterkill and some of those do get aerated in the winter months if there is a stocking program on that body of water.

Winter kill normally hits small, shallow ponds. That is why we're looking at a bait shortage this year that could be averted with the lakes being iced over, resulting in low bait sales.
The 1st three weekends are when the largest bulk sales of minnows take place.
