today, 1st time out bass fishing here in Northern Indiana with a buddy and he paddles the canoe with my pole sticking out behind me, i was in front, (i know, it should have been in the canoe but how many times do we leave it a little over the edge) and it SNAPs on the dock beside us. I dont know how he didnt see it but it broke, brand new fenwick. havnt even caught a bass on it yet, and just a couple gills.
So, I am looking for a replacement 2nd part/tip section for my 6'6" Fenwick Eagle GT Medium weight. numbers on it are: EGTS66M-2 and 01G12BK. It is a 2 part rod. The handle part is fine, I just need the tip part.
I will be willing to pay for it. Just in case anyone has a rod that they dont use or happen to have the handle that might be cracking or something...i know this is a long shot, but thought i would try.
I will see if i can buy the 2nd section from Fenwick, see what they will charge me for it.
Exactly like mine. I broke 2-3 fenwick rods 6'6'' inch poles. Cut it down a little and spliced them together than duck taped it on a BWCA trip. Worked great as a 6 foot pole. Broke them on fish and also got broke on a portage in past. Not satisfied how easy they break. Use to be able to take it back to the store and they would replace it there free. Now I think you have to send it in?
isnt breaking a fenwick a crime in minnesota ? :>) i own 3, my favorite .. gary roach walleye edition 1 piece medium heavy 1997?. but i bought 2 fenwick lunker stiks 2 piece rods off of ebay that i love, just for the BW.
I use to have a Reeds sporting good store and they exchanged it at the store. They closed in my area. A couple I broke was not my fault, another got piled on in my truck,my fault. I am starting to wonder for the BWCA a graphite-fiberglass combo might be better for people like me. I usually just troll anyhow.
