Just curious if you all think it matters. One of the guys in my group picked up some bright orange line. My assumption is that if they sell it, the color must not matter all that much...but bright orange? What does everyone think?

I bought some red "Walleye" line once. Don't remember ever using it. Now I wonder where it went. Thanks for ruining my evening. 8^(

I just changed the line on my reel. It had white fireline on it. I caught many fish last year with the line but I did not like the way the line performed. I put some green line on for this years fishing. I have used clear, yellow, green, white line with all good results.

I used to use green PowerPro all the time. However, over the last couple of years I have switched to red PowerPro. It is supposed to disappear in the water faster. It is also easier to see above water.

I don't think it matters much. Caught piles of walleyes and bass on Wood Lake several years ago using Fireline Crystal and my buddy was using regular Fireline

I like the high vis line for fishing rivers. I tie on a clear leader. Personally I believe it can make a difference, use lighter # line also if possible.

My all time favorite line is(was) the Berkley Hi-Vis chartreuse....mainly for line watching. Unfortunately they don't make it anymore. A lot of times I'd use a low vis leader but really don't remember much of a difference between using it straight or with the leader.

I picked up some of the hi vis orange also and I'm looking forward to using it.

clear...because bw water is clear, or at least tannic-clear.

I like clear for mono and dark green braid. I even feel I get a few more bites in clear water with fluorocarbon. The only two applications I use hi-vis for are pitching and swimming jigs and plastics for river Walleyes and Catfishing. In the Bdub I mostly use clear mono.

I've had my best luck with 6 lb lo-vis green but last year I also brought in a second pole with crytal fused white line and caught a few pike on that.

Clear fluoro, Crystal Ivory mono, green Power Pro.

Anyone ever think about the red thing....

Red line disappears, but red hooks entice bites. Sounds like marketing run amok to me.

I wish I had a fave, but I buy whatever I happen to buy when I'm needing line.

Remember the Color-C-Lector? Red goes to brown 1.5 to 2ft. deep. Red was/is a marketing ploy. Always been interested in the reverse counter-shading, tho...oh well, who knows?? On past trips I have trolled Hot-n-Tots that I had spray painted white on top, and black on bottom...caught fish. Also caught fish on the same trip with all-white, and gray back and white belly..so...I dunno!

I know at times fish are line shy but then they go and swim into a gill net by the hundreds. I duno either.
