Bschotl, first order of business is to make sure the ice is out on Pine by then...should be ok. Pine is a very large West to east lake so stay close to shore and wear life jackets, especially with a west wind. At the west end there is a short trail to Johnson Falls which should not be missed if you are that close. It is a very pretty two level falls about a 10 minute hike through the woods...could be running pretty good this time of year.
There is one campsite on Little caribou and it is nice, if you are lucky enough to get it...very popular. Spent 2 nights on Caribou last august and it is a nice lake with reportedly decent walleye fishing (we didn't get any) and excellent smallie fishing. There is a great campsite with a small island in front of it and the shore fishing from there was phenomenal last summer. Jig and leech on a slip bobber was the ticket for us last year.
We also spent 2 nights on Alder but were windbound one entire day so did not get a chance to fish it at all. Very pretty lake though and again, supposed to have good fishing. We will be on Crocodile starting the 23rd so if you go that way, look for a Wenonah canoe with a bwca.com sticker on it and two incredibly handsome guys...or you might see us.
