We are planning a trip up to the BWCA in a couple of weeks and are looking to catch both walleye and lake trout. Does anyone know of a good lake to catch both on? We have a couple of first timers coming and want to give the thrill of lakers along with the eyes.

Hey Guys, This is Spinner Spoof Thanks for the info.I finally figured out my login. OK so I talked to the group and we are trying to decide on Saganaga or Seagull. Which do you prefer for camping and fishing? Do you have any campsites to recommend?

Sag.
You can find a site in one of the west bays and pack a little heavier due to not having to portage. Big lake, big fish.

I was catching lakers pretty close to shore this past week (in Quetico). I had to paddle the canoe while I was reeling them in so as not to hit the shore. I was using a large floating silver rap with a three foot leader and enough weight in front of the leader to get the rig to the bottom of the lake. I trolled very slowly. It seems that I was hitting them in about 20' to maybe 30' of water. I let this one go. Beautiful fish.
