Just got back from Brule. Steady fishing and mixed bag of size/numbers of all species. Plenty of walleye including a fair number of 20plus inch fish including two 24 inch fish. Those two were caught on bucktails while fishing for pike, go figure. Good topwater action for smallies, not many big fish though. I landed the fattest 30 inch pike I've ever seen and brother in law landed a 40 inch pike on Vernon. No luck on lakers, but its hard to complain when everything else is biting.

All the fish were shallow except for the big pike, we were trolling for lakers when we bumped into him.

Sounds like a good trip. Vernon is a gem. The lake is loaded with whitefish so it makes sense that big pike would be suspended over the deep basin.
