The lakers weren't buying what we were selling and we got skunked mid-June a few years ago. The smallmouth bass on the other hand...

Nice Laker! Thanks for the replies guys. We'll be there in May so that should help the trout fishing :)

I also caught my first laker on Oyster. We used to go west side all the time and it was the first time we really fished seriously for them.

Obviously havent been there yet, but I would imagine, using the standbys would be a good way to start. We will be fishing ciscos, and trolling spoons and raps. Depending on the timing of the spring, we may cast spoons and plugs, but I would imgaine we will be too late for that May 22...

We went to Oyster on a coldish mid may trip. We were trolling shap raps and various silver minnow imitators.

You might be able to catch them from your campsite if you take the first site to the right of the portage, coming up the Oyster River from the Agnes portage. I was able to do so in the middle of June, in 2008.
