Picture yourself as a tourist in Peru or Ecuador, on a side trip fishing for piranha. You could just whip this baby out of your shirt pocket (while your other shirt pocket is available for a victory cigar) and look like a pro while the other tourists dangle a string from their hand or a short stick.

Jeriatric...you are correct, the potential is limitless. I may be looking into ticket prices very soon, Peru must be nice this time of year.

And it's made in China so you can be assured that it's a high quality piece of gear! I bet that James Bond had one of these!

Strange that there's no mention of how many yards of line it takes. I'm guessing no more than 150 yards of 10#.

One can always throw the reel away (upon realizing that it doesn't work) and tie the line to the end of the telescoped pen. He'd still be ahead (hopefully) of the tourist with the string tied to his finger, in the piranha fishing competition.

LOL That's awesome! Not sure I'd trust it enough to fish with, but it would make a great gift for that outdoorsman who has everything! Everything except, of course, a fishing pen!
