Heading to Gunflint Lake and staying at the Cross River Lodge for my wife's 50th. She wants a bed and roof for her 50th instead of the themarest and the Big Agnes.
I've heard it's a tough lake at this time of year, so any suggestions for walleyes hot spots would be appreciated.
Not sure if there are any walleye hot spots on Gunflint. I have caught some (2) big walleyes in the narrows between Gunflint and Magnetic at night in the fall. Not sure if your bride would appreciate you fishing all night long so that you might catch a fish. The bay where the Cross River comes in might hold some walleyes, especially if there is an east wind. Otherwise the beach at the east end might be an option if there is a west wind.
