I'm making an assumption -- you're talking about Lake Agnes North Nina Moose, right? We did catch crappies, large ones, in a deeper hole last week of July. One of the guys I went says lakers are possible from the shore on Oyster in the spring, they tried on our trip but didn't catch anything.

From what I hear water temps are still fairly warm so lakers are still deep. You will have to go deep on Oyster to find them unless water temps cool and the lakes turnover.

I was up on Little Vermillion a few weeks ago and we where fishing for walleye but caught alot of big crappie (12 inch or so). Some where at 15 feet and others where at 30 feet. They liked anything the walleyes did. We where fishing fat heads on jigs or red hooks.

Its worth the effort to go to Lac La Croix. Bigger water, better fishing. Agnes can be a good lake, but LLC has some BIG fish and with all the different terrain and structure you can hook in to smallies, eyes and big pike. There are several beautiful campsites to choose from as well. Take care.
