There are maps from various companies with depth contours of selected lakes in the BWCA. I don't know of any that show weed beds or anything like that however.

The DNR web page is the only place I know that shows the depths of most lakes. No idea about weed beds.

Navionics' website has their maps for free: http://webapp.navionics.com/

For even more detail, click the pull-out arrow button on the left of the screen, click "navionics +", close out that slide out menu, and then once the map loads click the round sonar button on the bottom left of the map screen.

This shows maps developed from crowdsourced sonar data that people upload to their company.

This post is a gem. I'm a first timer up there at the end of May and that site is exactly what I was after. Thanks!

Thanks, schweady. Your first name wouldn't be Pete, would it? ;)

My last name has also led me to be called Captain & Doctor but mostly hooker. Hooker causes too many problems online though.

Incredible amount of useful info on this site. Glad i found it and glad everyone has contributed. Hopefully I can add something to it others.
