Just wondering if anyone was planning on trying any of Zman's new elaztech surface popper in the Bdub this year? Trying them Queticomike?

A guy I know who tournament fishes sent some to me and wanted to know what I thought about them. I told him I would give them a shot this next trip in May. So I can let you know in June if they were any good for me. They look good, jury is still out :)

I ordered 2 packs of pop shads and 8 packs of regular shadz. The pop shadz look nice and I will try them locally to see how they work.

Based on Mike's recommendation of the Shadz, I am going to order some and give em a whirl. They look pretty good.

Got some pop shadz and plenty of others (finesse, zinkers, grubs, fluke style, frogs, trailers...). If I can pack in 2-3 of each style, I should be able travel lighter.

I too purchased some pop shadz and will give them a workout this spring. I've caught bass and bay saltwater species on Z-man lures previously so I expect these will also work well. I like the Z-Man products I've used to date.

First impression. Floats, dives, comes up, not always right side up. It will pop. It is erratic rather than a walker. I think it will be fine if worked slow, emphasizing the erratic. A constant retrieve will see it all over the place, including subsurface. It's pretty buoyant, so I may also try it with a weighted hook (1/16 oz) and see how it responds. Shad color with contrast is good. If fish are biting, it should last longer than other baits. Kind of acts like a heavy shadz with a cupped face.

Think it is worth the space it takes up ? Is it significantly different enough from the Zulu to use space taking it in? Just wondering if there is an application when it would be preferred over the Zulu?

I bet that thing would kill it on redfish.

If you have to choose between these two lures due to room concern go with the proven winner, the Zulu.

I'll be taking one or two, as additions to my poppers. I don't look at as a substitute for a Zulu, which does a lot more darting and is more subsurface. Because the pop shadz is weedless, it would be good over weed beds, whereas a hard bait would get hung up. Zulus work in weeds too, but a popper creates more commotion.

Just checked out a video of them, they look awesome. Agree though that if choosing between hese and a zulu, zulus are more versatile. Here is the video I checked out:
