Looks like most of it is bass stuff. If you like bass fishing, take it.

That is a fine collection of top water Smallmouth Bass lures. Never know when a walleye or pike will hit one of those.

TGO, If you had to, Could you name 5 artificial lures you would take on a BWCA trip? By the way your advice last year for the first week in August was spot on. See you in the end of July. Thanks, Rick

drrick,
No I cannot,
If you like to cast and want exercise, just about any of those God forsaken things can be used.
(the exercise is from casting, not hauling in fish in case there was any question)
BUT, if you have kids with you and want to catch fish, stick to the simplest method! :)

Many of those would do a pretty good job of finding smallies and northerns. Some walleyes to be had as well with some I'd say.

TGO, By simplest method I assume you mean , Leaches. Can you say anytime of the day is more favorable for leaches. For example dawn, mid morning, afternoon or evening. Just wondering. Thanks

Simplest means a plain hook tied directly, and tipped with a leech, part of a crawler, or a minnow hooked just inside the upper lip and out through the nose.
Put a light split shot about 3-4 feet away from the hook, if you desire.
Troll this at about a half mile an hour or LESS, close to or on the bottom.
Have at least 40-50 of line out so it's away from your boat/canoe.
Or you can anchor on a reef, and cast the same out, allowing it to hit the bottom, and slowly retrieve for a foot or two, stop, then repeat.
The slow retrieve can be cranking the reel a turn or two at a time, or lightly twitching the hook so it moves the same distance that cranking the reel would do.
Let it sit for about 10 seconds between each motion.
When anchored, don't use a sinker at all.
