I'm have not been fishing, conventional or with flies, for several years but I hope to remedy that this year. I do fly fish and tie my own flies. My preferred targets are stream trout.

ME!!!! Bass, Pike, Laker(ok, don't get 'em every year)...back home Crappie, bass, Sand Bass, Sunfish(jillions of varieties). I have a 5 wt. and a 8wt. The 5wt. gets a real workout at home, even use it for doodle-socking Crappie. The 8 is the hero for "up north"....maybe a tad heavy-handed for SMV, but just the ticket for water-wolves. While I feel a DNA connection with my Calcuttas, lately I have used the flyrods most of the time, starting at a water temp. around 50.

I have done quite a bit of it over the years. I have also made 100s of flies. I target stream trout and sunfish. I have not picked it up for two years now, having too much fun with spinning catching smallies.

I fly fish for steam trout, and I get in on the steelhead runs each year. I also make hundreds of flies; it's a big hobby for me. I have been thinking about bringing my fly rod for a couple years but I haven't fly fished the bwca or quetico yet, nor have I ever fly fished from a canoe. This might be the year. The bwca.com fly fishing forum has given me lots of new ideas for tying. If you have yet to check that forum out I recommend it.

I love fly fishing. I target basically all species. My favorites fish so far are bonefish, giant trevally, and cutthroat and brook trout. I've fly fished all over, from Iceland to Seychelles. I have yet to land a musky on fly though. Hopefully this summer I can get one.

I pretty much flyfish every game fish in the Great Lakes states.
Haven't caught a Lake Trout yet but have a blast fishing stream
trout on lakes. I'm an avid fly tyer as well. I do use spinning
gear for some fishing too.

+1 for me. Mostly bass, pike, panfish. Have done several saltwater trips. Also some trout fish but I don't enjoy the fickle, finesse fishing. I prefer fish that are stupid and brutal.

I have fished for stream trout all my life, and have never graduated to fly fishing..just have success with hardware (and worms) but I sometimes think about changing my ways. :)

I love to Flyfish for smallies in the BWCA, personal best is a 22incher last year. Use the flyrod on Northerns in Canada, "guided" my son to a 38incher a couple of years ago up on the BrightSands Park in Ontario. I have a 9 weight that is really to heavy for smallies but works well for Northerns., Fred

Used to fish trout a lot when I lived in KY. Now just bass, northerns, and panfish.

I like to fly fish when it's practicable. I know that you really can fly fish medium depth water, in heavy wind, etc. but I don't like to fight it. In many situations it is THE best way to catch fish, I'll do it then. I love fly fishing, I guess I'm just not a purest.

I fly fish all the time in all conditions, been doing it for 40 years. In adverse conditions ( deep water, wind, waves etc), I will still fly fish sometimes, knowing full well other methods will be more effective. I target all fish, from muskies to pike, walleye, lakers, steelhead, bass and panfish.

The real key is having a variety of rods and lines. Can't stress that enough. If you attach your line with loops, you can change out from floating to full sink for example in a coulle minutes. Very quick and easy. The biggest problem is if your canoe partner does not fly fish you have to accomodate presentations to allow both of you the best shot at fish (water depth, paddling speed, boat orientation etc.).

Moonman.

I bring a fly rod on each trip and break it out when I can. Usually I fish for small mouth, but I try for pike and trout (haven't gotten any yet!). I really need to spend more time with the fly rod up there and use it at a better time of the year (labor day isn't the best for top water smallies or lake trout on the fly).

I do quite a lot of fly fishing. Mostly for trout, steelhead, salmon and smallies but I have targeted muskies and pike on occasion.

One of these years I hope to fish for lakers just after ice out with my fly rod. I have a pretty good spot picked out on Louisa for it.

I fly fish a whole lot more than I use terminal tackle. My favorite is stream trout. And I always make a couple trips for Fall salmon and Spring steelhead. Locally, I focus on crappie, large mouth bass and hog bluegills in the neighborhood ponds, and smallies in moving water.

I'm bringing my flyrod to the BWCA this year for the first time to get some pike and hopefully a walleye. The only pike I've gotten on a fly was a 10" while trout fishing a tiny Mississippi River tributary in Iowa.

That reminds me, I need to get tying.

I love fly fishing for trout and musky.

A fat-lined lake trout and a musky over 45" is on my bucketlist

ME! I would rather fly fish than anything....including canoe tripping.
I never fly fish in the BW or Q anymore, but I have.... I fish stream trout, bass, and bluegills.

I fly fish and tie my own. Mostly after stream trout in SE MInnesota or sometimes out in Yellowstone, but have brought a rod to the BW a few times. I stop end examine mayfly hatches coming off the Mississippi almost every day of summer.

I fly fish mostly for smallmouth here in Illinois. I do take trips to the Milwaukee river and the Driftless area a few times per year. Fly fishing is more rewarding when you tie your own.

I fly fish most of the time and for smallmouth, carp or trout in WI. I have a 4,5, and 6 wt. My wife got into fly fishing last year. She sports a 5wt and 8wt.

I began part time guiding two years ago, I have a full, full time job but my little side business pays for itself and it's fun to meet new people and see new destinations and streams.

I tie a lot of my own stuff but my friends out west supply me with most of my flies.

I have had the pleasure to mix my love of travel with my fly fishing addiction from Europe to Vancouver island, the Pacific NW, Upper Midwest, the Ozarks, Southern Appalachia. Simply put: Nothing Compares!

I fly fish for trout and salmon primary. But also for crappie and bluegill in lakes. I sometimes use the fly rod for bass and need to do more of that. I think its great. I also like spin fishing so I use that approach mainly for bass, pike, and muskie.

I fish with all tackle - fly, spin, baitcast, centerpin, fixed line - my wife might argue that this is so I can own more fishing equipment... but I do enjoy it all.

I like all species - with a fly rod I most often target Mooneye, Trout species, and Panfish species. Sometimes for Bass and Carp, occasionally for anything
