The boys and I had to cancel our June trip this year. We had a Sarah permit and planned on heading up to McIntyre, Brent, and Suzanette. Summer was just to loaded for them and they wanted to spend some time at home with their friends. Well their decision left me in the cold (or should I say HOT - Southwest Florida).
So I am going to try to sneak away after Labor Day when they go back to school for a 10 ~ 14 day trip in the Q with my cousin. I know the fishing will not be the same, but I would still like fishing to be the emphasis of the trip.
I have never tripped this late into the season and would appreciate any help you can provide. I know there are supposed to be less bugs, and shorter days. How about weather, and water temps? Which routes do you think would offer the best fishing in September? Do I need to target different species in September vs. June?
