Hello fellow anglers. Taking a rookie on that route this early JULY.
What should I expect as far as spotty fishing activity in that part of the park? Never traveled those lakes yet. Mid summer fishing- yeah good luck , right?

So bump it up and ask more ...?
I will focus on trolling while paddling. knowing that the lakes I'm targeting harbor trout and pike, what lures would you present to fish?
lake trout has an elusive species in the summer but it still can be caught. Would you have any specific suggestions regarding the choice of trolling lures and or baits?
Thank you.

Not sure of your route. Missing Link and Sagus are a looooong ways apart...for a rookie.
Missing Link has brookies.....troll. Sagus is a walleye lake. Lots of eaters, nothing big. Jig around the down timber.
Repost your exact route so we know what other lakes you'll be on.

I'd like to fish: Tuscarora, Crooked, Little Saganaga, Elton.
Depending on conditions a our condition, we may venture the north of Boulder chain of smaller lakes. I picked Sagus as the most optimistic destination.

Yup....lake trout lakes and some northerns. Start with Little Cleo spoons (I like blue/silver) Maybe some deep running Raps, purples and blues. By July, I'd be trolling over deep areas where they transition to shallower bays or reefs.
The lakes north of Boulder are not traveled much....campsites and portages are a little rugged. I can't speak for fishing those little lakes.
