I'm a big Savage Gear fan and was intrigued when they sent me a utube clip of a new lure they have made......I have been trying to get some but apparently they are not available yet ( if someone tracks some down please let me know)

With all the Mayfly talk I thought I would drop this into the discussion. While my primary interest with this lure is trout my guess is that it will take almost fish. Put one in front of a walleye and I have little doubt it would eat. Presentation might take some thought......slip bobber perhaps?

Anyway, it's the same plastic technology that they make many of their other lures from......extremely tough yet flexible material. Check it out.....

I am a noobie with regards to trout. I have only fished for them once last year and was catching them with 20' taildancers in 80 feet of water. How would you use this lure if the mayfly hatch is in full effect? Up shallow? I am heading to the BWCA this wednesday.

I'm guessing he means trout that usually feed on the surface, so not Lakers. Not saying Lakers never rise.

Good catch Murf......I was indeed thinking cuts, rainbows and Browns of the inland variety.

The lure does look like it would have interesting possibilities for a wide variety of fish though doesn't it? I am picturing a midsummers calm evening and working a weed line with a slip bobber and getting a mixed bag of walleye, crappie and bass.

Who knows I haven't even seen the thing in person yet but I have plenty of their other plastics and know how good their other stuff is.....no reason to think this lure will not also be tops. Now if I can just get my hands on some.......I wonder if they need a field tester?
