Congrats! They are fun, aren't they!? I also caught my first (and 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th) on Oyster in June.
My son cooked one on foil over the fire grate with olive oil and seasoned salt. Mmmmm!

I convinced Lindy to try fish that way this trip...hope to see if he likes it by Sunday night.
Oh, and that is a nice looking fish!

I remember my wife being just as, or maybe even a little more excited than I was when I caught my laker. For her it meant she didn't have to put up with my frustration anymore.

I remember my first Laker, it was like I caught some secret fish... no one else in my family had ever caught before. Thanks for posting and letting me relive the moment.
My 7 year old son caught a Laker last summer on his first trip to Quetico---I tried to instil in him how special that moment was, but alas I don't think he understood :)
