Anyone here fished Mudro? We're heading up to Fenske for Labor Day weekend - and are brining our family into Mudro on a day trip so that we can show them just a glimpse of what my husband, daughter and I call our heart and home - the bwca.

We all love fishing and have heard that the fishing on Fenske is meh - but that Mudro is actually pretty good - but often over looked since its the "gateway" lake and most people paddle hard through...

I'd love to know your thoughts - and spots if you dare to share with little old me.

Thanks!

MN DNR Lakefinder

Lindsey-
Been through there, but didn't fish it, like you say. The DNR survey is from last year; it doesn't look that hot, honestly, but I'm betting you could catch some northerns. Troll around with spoons. Good luck and have fun.

I haven't fished it hard but have spent some fishing it. I've only caught small northerns and nothing of any size that would make me want fish all day.

Drive up the road to EP 77, give them a glimpse of the rock art pictos. If fishing is meh..at least they saw something surreal.!!

I agree take them to Hegman Pictos, but back when Chainsaw sisters was in operations I heard numerous times that Mudro was a good walleye lake, but it seems like more of a spring bite if I remember.

To be honest Lindsey Mudro and Sandpit are two of the last lakes in that area I would fish.
