Planning a trip into Lake One area July 17-21,2016 , and am looking for advice on fishing this area. We are not new to the BW , or fishing , just this area ; we will be base camping on Lake One or Two , if no sites available on One , so we are willing to portage to get to good fishing. We are looking to find pan fish for one night fish fry , and hopefully walleye , but ANY tips will be appreciated for ANY fish. We are planning on bringing crawlers and leeches , but do not want to deal with minnows.

Fished lake one end of June 2015. We were successful with crawler harnesses with a couple split shots while fishing 10-13' drop offs along islands. Shad raps worked well also.

Well worth the trip to the north end of Lake One at the end of the rapids. Anchor down where the rapids enter the Lake and jig with leeches. If there are two of you in the canoe you'll have minimum 4 Walleye within an hour no problem.
