Is anyone using these and have they been successful for you?
It looks like it's just a mushroom head jig and and half of a 5" senko, but my curiosity is piqued.

Added a link to the original post. It looks to be a cold water finesse rig. I'm just wondering if it's been used by anyone and how it performed.

Looks like my kind of set-up. I really like the jig head offered, looks primo.
I'm not so sure I would limit this rig to cold water. I've taken lots of really nice bass on 4 inch worms in super clear water mid summer using 4 lb test. Just have to make sure the weeds haven't grown in.........an 8 or 9 ft steelhead rod is superb for getting leverage to pry fish up and off the bottom while still offering reasonable protection for the skinny line.
4 and 6 lb line tied directly to even thin wire jig heads can be troublesome to get 100% connection.. I highly recommend the Gryp knot which is tied with a tie fast tool. The gryp knot is truly superior when it comes to tying a small diameter mono to a larger diameter. Few, if any, knots perform this task like the Gryp knot.

Yes. Variations of this rig CRUSH.
My go to SMB finesse rig along with a wacky worm setup when conditions allow. Floro leader with braid so you can feel everything.
Jigs here:

I use the StickZ & ZinkerZ: http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Z_Man_Hula_StickZ_6pk/descpage-ZMANHUL.html
ZMAN products are ultra durable. Snags and Pike are the only thing to make you lose the plastic.
Link to an angler from Ontario who does 'OK' with them :)

According to his... "Ontario logs for 2012. He told us that he fished 72 times and caught 3,247 smallmouth bass. Before mid-June, the bulk of those bass were caught on a 2 ½-inch ZinkerZ, which he made by cutting a five-inch ZinkerZ in half. Then from mid-June to mid-September, the bulk of his bass were caught on Z-Man’s four-inch Hula StickZ.

Bringing this thread back up because in May we went up to the bwca and did great with these. We caught smallies, and also walleye (with no live bait attached). Overall, we still used jigs and leeches the most for walleye but these really do incite a response from fish.
Also, the shroom heads worked well on a Canada trip when tipped with minnows.

Mastertangler... Have you tried the craws with that standup head? I have a few of them and haven't tried them yet, but was tempted to bring some up to Quetico this September...

Ned rig is amazing if your goal is to catch lots of fish. We use them in the rivers down south for numbers if the bite is slow. In my experience, they don't typically catch the largest fish, but do put numbers over the gunnels. You will occasionally catch big fish.
To me, BW and Q, are so rich with fish, all I want to do is power fish versus finesse. We just spent 10 days in and the bite was good enough that the Ned never even crossed our mind, and we packed probably enough for 50 rigs.
I could see it doing well in the summer and fall seasons when the bite gets tougher.
