We're heading to Grand Marais next week. I'm planning to take my S-I-L and 8 yr old grandson fishing. As they're from Alaska, my grandson has never fished for walleye or bass. He's ready. We need to rent a boat w/ small motor and am looking for a good walleye/bass lake.

I've done a little research and am leaning towards Hungry Jack, but looking for suggestions. Thanks.

OS, consider Two Island Lake which is an excellent smallmouth lake and a good consistent producer of walleyes as well. It is a pretty remote lake with a national forest campground on it, otherwise very little traffic. Lots of rocks, watch the lower unit.

Here's a link to some info from the MN DNR:

Two Island Lake

Sounds good. Is there a place to rent boat and motor?

Hungry jack lodge has boat rentals, bait, lodging, and good food. When i syayed there a few years ago i thought their staff was very freindly and helpfull. I would recomend them for anything you need without hesitation
