We are going in on Poplar Lake in a week and plan on fishing Horseshoe/Vista, and might make a trip down to Misquah for lakers. Would it be worth a side trip over to Jake,Morgan,Carl or Lux for a day? I wouldn't mind frying up some Crappie or Perch for dinner too if they are to be had.

Any tips for the area would be much appreciated if you are willing to share them! :)

No pies in those lakes I know off-- especially= (Misquah- Little Trout),, maybe Perch. Other can chime in.
If you make Misquah-- give it a college try and hit Little Trout. If you have your man card-- take the port to Little Trout (one of roughest ports I have done) and try your luck at an over populated / small size Lake Trout fishery. People will thin out here.

i think Jake and Morgan are both lovely lakes for scenic value. didn't fish, just paddled. not so impressed with Carl or Lux, dead fish guts on the shore near campsite and water quality, in general, looked "iffy".
