Im heading in at fall lake over labor day weekend with the possibility of venturing through back bay to wood lake. I did this same route this spring and had a great time catching big sunfish and largemouth on back bay. Are water temps going to be too high the first week of september to target walleye, pike, and smallmouth on back bay? The plans are not finalized yet, we may base camp and stay out of back bay entirely, but I would like to pass through back bay and hit hoist, good, and wood on the way out if water temps are not too high in that area of basswood.
I seem to remember a thread discussing the temps of the various basswood bays but I have been unable to find it again, throw whatever ya got at me.... please!
I would have to give it a try. Every year is different. The average high the the first week of Sept. is around 70 and low is upper 40's. I've caught nice crappie in Hoist this time of year. A little tricky to find but they were schooled up tight. My partner and I threw a marker buoy and drifted over the school with jigs .
