When I come across something new and outside the box I will take the time to share it. That is how we get better.
I haven't used these as of yet but I will certainly be placing an order during the winter. Primarily aimed at the Muskie / pike crowd I also am impressed with the 5" leech for walleye.
Something that the Sabourin Lake guides really struck home with me when I had a shore lunch with them on my recent WCPP trip. We were talking about the Shadzilla swim baits which I noticed on their rods. They asked me what colors I had brought.....they highly advocated black which I hadn't been overly attracted to. Fast forward to some of the print info I have found on the Jensen jigs where the color black was credited for the majority of bigger pike. The theory is a leech connection.....who knows for certain but suffice to say I am starting to sit up and take notice.
Anyway, I thought these were cool, I like the material and I like the scale (big). Very different.......I have had a lot of luck with pike through the years with jigs anyway but this is a whole different level.
Jansens jigs
The clatterbaits are really different as well and made by the same guy. Not sure why the website doesn't navigate to the Clatterbaits. Looks like I'm missing the boat by not subscribing to In-Fishermen as these were written up by them some time ago. But for those interested here you go..

Zski we are on the same page.
Huggy did you check out the link? While the concept is similar to a Chatterbait these are on a whole different scale and thus the different name. Designed primarily as a Muskie bait but they would take northerns as well.
FWIW......Chatterbaits have come a long way since winning a major bass event on Lake Okeechobee many years ago. Quite a variety of sizes and styles. After some personal success with both smallies and walleye with Chatterbaits my focus on next years canoe country trip will have a very strong emphasis on the bladed bait using Big Bite Baits as trailers. But that's fodder for another discussion.

Yes I did MT. The link says "Clatterbait" but when you go to the link the baits have " chatterbait" in the titles. Google "clatterbait" and nothing comes up.
Ill be trying a Zman chatterbait this weekend.

OK Huggy......I suppose I would be a contrarian if I pressed the issue I just wanted to make sure you had opened the link to see the difference. My google must be different than yours ;-)
Yes the Z-man Chatterbaits have improved over the original model. They are available in a wide variety of models, weights and finishes at Tackle Wharehouse. I like natural finishes for canoe country with gold or black blades. I would advise a trailer as well. Perhaps a crawfish pattern would be good.......a little super glue will keep the plastic firmly in place. A 3 inch Kalins curly tail makes a good trailer as well (you need a trailer).
Good luck and let us know how it went.
