We're going in at Baker on the 16th. We had poor fishing last year on Sawbill. It might have been the days of rain, hail, and thunder but I suspect going in with a plan would have made a difference.

Based on what I've heard today, we'll be hitting Burnt and Smoke for sure.

Thanks in advance.

What did you hear about Burnt and Smoke?

I heard from the Sawbill outfitters that fishing was good, specifically on Smoke and Burnt. I didn't ask about specific fishing spots because I didn't have a set of maps in front of me. I also spoke to someone at the Tofte ranger station that had just gotten back. He said mayfly hatch was slowing the bite.

Thanks,

Heading up the 13th staying at the campground and day tripping from there. I hope the mayflies are finished. I know from past experience that it can be real tough to compete with them.
