I just wanted to share a pizza recipe that we use when in the BW or camping. It does not require a reflector oven and tastes amazing.
Required:
Cast Aluminum Square Cooker (Important: you want square not circle and aluminum, it is lighter than the cast iron one) Cooking Irons
Ragu Pizza Sauce (Doesn't need to be refrigerated)
Butter
Bread
Cheese (vacuum sealed in portions)
Pepperoni (vacuum sealed in portions)
Butter 1 side of 2 slices of bread. Place buttered side of one piece of bread onto one side of iron cooker. 2-3 tbsp of sauce, cheese and pepperoni on bread. Put other slice of bread on top (butter facing out) and close cooking iron. Place in the coals of the fire (watch closely because they can burn fast. Then enjoy the best pizza sandwhich ever.

We cook a bunch of stuff in it. I can give you a list if you really want, but for now i'll give you a makeshift one we made last year. Filled one half with some pancake batter (the easy stuff) and we threw berries we found and cinnamon in there for an amazing little breakfast pastry thing. The thing is super lightweight and there are a ton of easy recipes. Let me know if you want more.

We call them puggy pies. Use them all the time when car camping. We put ham and cheese, peanut butter and marshmallow, or different fruit pie fillings in them. Never tried to take them on a canoe trip. I think it would be hard to pack the bread and keep it from squishing. They sure do taste great though.

We just put 2 loaves of bread in a cardboard box that goes in the food pack. The box doesn't add noticeable weight and keeps the bread from being crushed. We actually use a couple boxes in the food pack, it helps keep things organized and I have OCD so that is important.

I've always called those "pie irons". I've never really thought about taking one to the BWCA, but it's a pretty good idea though perhaps a bit awkward to carry. I would think it would be great with kids.
My kids loved them on family car camping trips and even at home at the campfire.

Pie dies are what we call them. Used fruit pie filling with sprinkled sugar on top as a kid. I have progressed to the ham and cheese thing. Last summer the marshmellows melted for smores, so we whacked the marshmellows up and put with chocolate and had pie die smores. Not bad I must say.
