quote kanoes: " just buy one"
Jan, that brings back memories of family camping. :)
The other way was skewering bread with a stick (forked stick is best) and toasting it over the fire like a marshmellow.
When I was in Boy Scouts we make billy pots and stoves out of tin cans, and a handy little individual cobbler maker out of a tuna can. We probably made a toaster, too, though I don't remember. That was so long ago. In fact, now that I think about it, I don't think toast was invented yet when I was a kid.

quote sst6313: "I want one like SunCatcher too. It was awesome at wing night..Nojo do you think we could convince him to build us each one..I could trade him some stuff!!!"
It was the best camp toaster ever, wasn't it? And I even have the proper can! Not so easy now that coffee comes in plastic. ;-)
