Well not really but...
.....when it comes to Kool-Aid, we want the “REAL DEAL” in the BW, you know the kind made with real sugar? Not going to do the Crystal light or the fake “Pre-Sweetened” stuff. So we add a few more pounds to the pack, so who cares right? It’s real sugar.

So here is our mix:
-½ cup sugar
-Half packet of Kool-Aid (1 tsp.)

At home-
Pour sugar into a custom made vacuum-seal bag, (I make them about 3”x 6”) add Kool-Aid, and seal.

In the field-
Jab knife into bag, dump into a 32oz Nalgene bottle of filtered water, screw on cap, and shake well, un-screw cap & DRINK! Yum…

It’s nice having them pre-mixed because you can keep a couple in your day pack or thwart bag and don’t have to worry about them getting wet.

I'm sure your way is cheaper, but:

Kool Aid singles (WITH sugar!)

Designed for 16.9 oz water bottle....so use two in a 32-oz Nalgene. Then it's a tiny bit extra sweet and sugary. ;-) I see it has part artificial sweetners (I was trying to figure out how you could use 1/2 cup sugar while two of these packets is far less than that) but it's a mix of real sugar and artificial and honestly I did not notice it. Having some of the real thing in there masks the artificial, I think. I brought a limited supply of these on our last trip, plus Crystal Light. These were gone in short order and then we all "settled" for the CL.

I don't blame you, I like the real stuff too. I bought real stuff from cub foods It came in plastic jars that we took in with us. We brought two Lemonades, one grape and two Tangs. We had eight guys and six days. We just about drank it all.

Nola,
Your link must have had the day off?

I'm looking for a good toast recipe. Can you help me out? :)

Seriously, I've been doing similar for 15 years or so, but just using ziplock sandwich bags. Gotta have REAL sugar.

There are some single-serving Gatorade packets ("G2", I think) that have a small amount of sugar in them and I like them a lot, too.

I remember thinking that adding a jolly rancher to my water was heaven on BWCA trips when I was a kid.

Never thought of that!
Thanks!

What I do is buy the big containers of pre-mixed Kool-aid, then put in small zip-lock bags. Fill your 32 ounce Nalgene and add approx 2 tablespoons of pre-mix, then taste it and add as needed
