Go to the cosmetic section of any dept. store purchase a small plastic bottle and transfer hot sauce.

In my opinion, Tabasco is a necessity. After a while, the freeze dried food all starts to taste the same.

I bought foil pouches from minimus since I was ordering other stuff.

If I didn't have the foil, I would consider a small glass bottle of Tabasco. I know may inflame some of the folks on this board. But it seems like a small risk that can be carefully managed.

Another option is to switch brands of hot sauce. Texas Pete is available in small plastic bottles.

Also, I wouldn't recommend transferring to another plastic bottle. There was another thread about this topic and someone there noted that his plastic bottle leaked pretty bad...

Some Mexican hot sauces come in plastic containers. The cosmetic bottle suggestion is a good one, many camping sections in stores sell plastic bottles as well.

I like Tabasco a lot, but I'm more of a Frank's or Louisiana hot sauce guy myself (I like the salt).

I dehydrate habanero peppers, and then power that in a blender. Light weight and takes up very little space, it’s the “Everclear” of the spice world.

Just be careful when you open the pack. Don't rub your eyes afterwards.

I think PatchesTheCanoe is on the right track here. Tell the ranger you use it to numb your hemroids and ask him if he wants to try a shot........... He will either believe you or laugh his a$$ off and let you slide.

Another option are some of the asian chili sauces. We pick up a sriracha sauce. It has a good bite and comes in a plastic bottle. The smallest size is about a pint.

First I want to apologize for offending those that are going to get offended by this.

As you can see the bottle has a picture of a rooster on the label... it didn't take long before the guys in our group came up with the grade schoolesque nick name of "Hot Cock". About two minutes into every meal some one would offer up "This cheeseburger macaroni is great, but try dragging some hot cock through it... MMM MMM." Unfortunately this type of culinary witticism grew legs and followed us right to the pizza place in Ely and still shows up occasionally at home. Sigh.
