I am looking at purchasing a Warbonnet Ridgerunner and Superfly tarp. I wanted to go with the Superfly for an "all weather" set up. I see that they recommend their 13 foot tarp to cover the ends of the bridge configuration on the Ridgerunner. I am wondering if anyone has any input on using an 11 foot Superfly for the Ridgerunner. Would I be defeating the purpose of the enclosed tarp by not getting the 13 foot?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I don't think there is anyway a 11 foot tarp would work with a Ridgerunner. The suspension coming from the spreader bars would be sticking out the tarp. Don't forget to have the pullouts set up for the Ridgerunner when you order it. You could also e-mail Warbonnet, they have been very helpful with any questions I have had.

Thanks for the info! Do they arrange the pullouts in a different location on a Superfly for a RR set-up? Maybe higher up to give you more elbow room?
I have emailed questions to Warbonnet on a couple of occasions recently, and have not heard back. I'll admit it's giving me pause with such a big purchase.

I would give a small company a few days. They have always got back to me within the week. When ordering the Superfly you can tell them it's for the RR and they will place the pullouts in the best location for the spreader bars. Part of the appeal of a hammock to me is the large tarp so I have lots of room to spread out and even sit under it with a chair in the rain. To each his own on tarp size, but the larger the better for me.

Warbonnet RR w/ 13' Superfly w/ doors . Purchased a 12' Thunderfly , if I had to do over I would have got the 13' TF. All in all the 12' TF works well, takes a little extra consideration when pitching, 13' Superfly is more forgiving when pitching.

I guess I am the outlier here. I have, and prefer an 11' tarp with my Ridgerunner. Contrary to the above post, the Ridgerunner HAMMOCK is much shorter than a gathered-end. The issue many try to solve with a 12 or 13' tarp is getting complete coverage of the suspension triangles.
I simply tie drip lines on the dogbones and have not had any issues and have been in many a rainstorm. I did shorten the foot end dogbones slightly to minimize the distance between the suspension ends and I can close the ends of the tarp to within 3" of 'closed' with no problems. To each his/her own, though, HYOH.
