Anyone been in the Hegman area recently? Just planned a quick weekend getaway to Ely and we're thinking of snowshoeing up to Hegman pictos. Wondering how the route is currently. Thanks in advance for any info

I don't think they have had recent snow, and it is a rather busy area so I would imagine a packed trail across the portage and up to the pictographs. Bring skis too, and slow down a little before you get to the end of the portage ;)

I did an overnight trip into Angleworm a couple of weeks ago. Going in and coming out there were multiple vehicles in the Hegman lot. And, there have been on other very recent times I've passed by. Also can confirm there hasn't been much snowfall since.

I'd feel very confident that the trail is well trodden

Sounds like it could be a snow sidewalk and snowshoes could be unnecessary...
