There were fresh moose tracks on the portage both ways. There was a Ford Focus with a flat on the trail going in, it was still there when we came out??? This would be a great location for a lemonade stand! I would have paid a lot of money for an ice cold beverage! Thanks for the road report. We will be going in that way this summer. Hopefully conditions will not have changed too much and they get the car out of there. |

06/01/2017 08:19AM No, I'll cross at baudette/rainy river, west of I falls. Thanks for the detailed info! That's very helpful! |

06/01/2017 07:56AM FYI... it's 14 miles of gravel from Hwy 11 to the Beaverhouse parking lot. At about the 10 mile mark, you'll see a sign directing you to turn left. From there, it's about 4 miles of one-lane road. If you meet someone, both of you just move over a bit and squeeze by. You'll come to the parking lot first, but just past it is the loading/unloading area. From there to the water is about 100 rods (1/3 mile) of flat trail. |

05/31/2017 05:51PM I took my family in there in a Toyota Matrix. We had to drive that last two-lane stretch very slow however we made it without a problem. |

05/31/2017 03:37PM If it's high water, there are some muddy slogs. But they've improved the road enough that even a small, low-slung passenger car should make it through without problem or damage. Used to be in worse shape. |

05/31/2017 10:54AM Watch for the signs and you'll be fine. Be careful going up the hills, as someone may be coming the other way. |

05/31/2017 10:30AM Well marked. The last stretch before the parking lot is quite narrow. |

05/31/2017 07:18AM I'm heading up Saturday, crossing the border at Rainy River and entering at Beaverhouse. I've never been there. I assume the road into the access is marked well, but I've made assumptions before.... Is it pretty easy to get there? |
