09/05/2017 01:58PM Yup I can't imagine leaving my home with this barreling in. I will be in Michigan during the event. Fortunately I have friends who will board up my home. Due back Tuesday, hoping the airlines will be running. Looks very gnarly. |

09/05/2017 12:54PM When do you leave for the canoe trip? Depending on Irma's route, you may be spared much damage, if any. I hope that's the case. However, plan for the worst and hope for the best. Not sure how you could leave if damage is imminent or Irma has left a mess of your residence and/or other belongings. There's always next year. |

09/05/2017 11:38AM This is my favorite time of the year. My annual Quetico trip is right around the corner and the weather should be changing. This year we are doing a 2 person loop for 9 days, followed immediately by a 12 day solo... Planning on leaving early Thursday morning for the trek to Atikokan but suddenly a glitch... Irma. We live about 100 miles north of Miami on the coast... Watching these models and knowing that there is a beast out there with 180 MPH winds that may well be headed my way 3 days before my trip begins is a bit unnerving to say the least. One can only hope!!! |
