Maybe EP 52. Take it Gillis and maybe over to Tuscarora. If you can get to Mora Lake it has a real big camp site.

Tuscarora or Little Sag off the gunflint. Other options in that area too

I'd enter through Slim Lake and travel through Hook to Big Rice. Then on to Big Moose. Could travel through Cummings Lake to Bootleg and out Indian Sioux. You'll see a few on Big Moose and some on Cummings but not many other people in between.

Looking for a route that takes my group out of the way to crowds in mid-July.
Previous trips:
We've started on Fourtown and gone north to both Gull and Moosecamp. Fourtown was always completely full, and Boot was hit or miss.
We've started at Little Gabbro and gone to Clearwater. Clearwater was perfect, Bald Eagle and Gabbro were both pretty full.
We've started on Moose and done a loop through Ima to exit Lake One. Moose was packed, but Ensign/Ima/Thomas were great iirc.

Looking for a new route for a large group (8) that takes us to some relatively empty lakes. Preference for lakes with clear water and large campsites with good swimming access. No interest in fishing. Bad fishing spots might be good for us, actually. Not too worried about difficult portages. We always plan for 2 days out, 3 days basecamped, 2 days back.
