That's a good route. You know about the portages on the Horse, since you've been there.

Moosecamp has at least three beaver dams, and some old logging obstacles to watch for at certain water levels. Take your time and start early, in case you get more wet than intended. Even though your flowing with current, the current can slow you down in a larger boat, as your turns are more drastic and in tight areas.

When reading a topo map, the lines that cross a river will bend to point upstream.

There really wasn't much flow in the Moosecamp River. Mainly that the water levels were higher on the north side of the beaver dams.

Thanks a bunch.
That goes perfectly with my planned route

"Moosecamp River flows south, from Moosecamp Lake to Fourtown."

I have been on the Horse. Wasn't sure of Moosecamp because my maps show same elevation, and generally folwage is north thruout the area. Thanks for the correction!

Horse River flows north, from Horse Lake to Basswood River.
Moosecamp River flows south, from Moosecamp Lake to Fourtown.

They flow down hill.

Sorry, had to-------------

Horse River flows Horse (1306 ft.) north to Crooked (1260 ft.). Assuming the same but very little drop, looks like open stream thru wetlands, for Moosecamp River, Fourtown (1332 ft.) to Moosecamp (1332 ft.), that one I have not been on.

Easy question for those whohave been there.

Which direction does the Horse River and the Moosecamp River flow?
I will be headed out of Horse towards Basswood River and Out of Moosecamp Lake towards Fourtown.
