Most likely no. We have a trailer and have never used the AC. With that being said the only time we needed it was a freak September heat wave in New Glares WI last year. Unfortunately we where Boondocking that trip. You might have a hard time finding a camper without AC, unless you're looking at a popup, teardrop or smaller less than 16ft trailer.

9 times out of 10 along the lake shore, when it's so warm during the day that you would want to use AC, it cools off enough at night because of usually how dry the air is (dew point). GM gets it's warmest not on S winds or SW winds , which many places do, but not GM because those come off the lake, but W to even NW in a mini "katabatic" wind. Think down sloping wind. Think a mini Santa Ana. Those happen in the GM and raise the temp quite a bit but no one notices unless your a weather nerd like myself. Again, those type of winds are going to be dry and once the sun goes down the temp is going to want to find the dewpoint - so the need for an AC up there - IMO - is not needed. But too each their own.

Even up the trail it's not that prominently used, but on the lake, I can't imagine needing it. I remember once when it was in the 90's and everyone was complaining but down by the lake it was still really nice.

You’re next to the lake and it’s cooler near the lake. Most homes along the shore don’t have AC. That said, you know what your tolerances are. Another consideration is that if you will use it other places, AC would be nice. If you don’t get it, bring a couple of fans.

Well the wheels are spinning for our summer 2019 plans. We've spoke to the Marina campground folks in Grand Marais. And currently are shopping for a camper.. So some have ac and some don't do you think ac would even be needed? I'm thinking no. Will be there through the entire summer..
