We parked our vehicles there the last weekend of September 2017 for 5 days and had no issues.

I've parked at the EP 47 lot the last two years, and did not have any problems.

I parked in there for an October trip. When we exited on October 6 my truck was the only vehicle left in the parking lot. The truck was fine.

I always park at Rockwood when I start and/or end a trip at one of the E.P. that you access from Poplar. I even do that when the only thing I need there is the permit. They are great people and it's worth the small fee to park there if you are not outfitting with them!!

There is a big parking lot at the public boat landing that you can use for free. I know many people that have parked there without any problems.

We left my truck at the EP47 parking lot one year for a week. We were dropped off in Ely and made our way over. I never worried about it the whole trip. It was right where we left it:)

Since that time however, we have stayed at and used Rockwood as our entry location. Like others have said it is too easy.

I'm with the previous posters. Rockwood is just too convenient, the owners are super hospitable, the showers are great before or after in the bunkhouses and I feel a lot better about leaving my truck parked there for a week rather than at an empty boat landing. You gotta pick up your permit somewhere; might as well be there.

I've used 47 twice. Once stayed at Rockwood bunkhouse the night before and once the night after the trip. Also have showers available for your return. Recommend launching and returning to Rockwood due to car security and nice available amenities.

You can park there, or pay a few bucks to park at Rockwood Outfitters. (That's what we did). We had our permit pickup there too.
They'll even help load up your canoe and give you crystal clear directions to the Lizz portage.

It's where I've parked, except when I used Rockwood Outfitters for bunkhouse and shuttle. If you're using an outfitter, you may be able to get a shuttle from them and leave your car there. You can call them up (or email) to check.

Can I park at the Poplar Lake boat landing for a 6-day trip? Is it secure? If not, where can I park?

Thanks.
