09/24/2018 02:08PM I doubt you will have much to worry about in the BWCA this time of year. I was out in the Twin Cities area at a State Park and was not bothered by them at all. It is getting down near the 30s in Ely the next few days and that helps a lot. Of course there is always the hearty ones to worry about. :-) |

09/24/2018 08:41AM None to speak of on the western end this past week. Cold nights, breezy times in the day. There was nary a bug in any of our sites. |

09/22/2018 05:54AM Here in NE Iowa you almost have to slather the deet on and wear a net to go out. It's just like being in the bwca without the loons, clear water, the view, the quiet, etc. OK, it's not really like being up north except for the mosquitos ! |

09/17/2018 09:39PM I was in Mon 9/10 - Sat. The first two nights, we didn't see a single mosquito, but Wed - Fri they were quite bad in the evenings. We were on island sites on Ogish and Alpine those nights. |

09/17/2018 07:47PM After some monster rain storms, the mosquitoes in Wisconsin are the worst they've been all summer, after being almost absent in late August. Cooler weather arrives tonight, but not enough to knock them out. What's the situation in the BWCA? |
