just an fyi
if you hike there along the trail that overlooks Lake of the Clouds, it is usually pretty wind swept so you won't even need snow shoes, here are examples:

Considering a snowshoeing trip, possibly to the Porkies. Day hikes but possibly a one night backpack. I believe I am set for gear except for gaiters. Any suggestions on a pair of quality gaiters good for some mountain trips as well as flatter terrain? Thanks.
