08/07/2022 12:32PM If you are looking for moose sightings you will need to be in Gunflint. We have seen Moose on Red Rock lake, the south side of Seagull, and Horseshoe Lake. In fact we have seen moose every year we have camped on the south end of Seagull or on Red Rock. However, we also go late September as well. |

08/06/2022 11:03PM Best place I know to meet your goals would be the Lizz/Swamp entry point - a few permits are available starting Sept. 24. We saw several moose (on Horseshoe Lake but lots of sign on other lakes too), caught fish (plenty of walleye, pike, and SM bass), and had a couple of nice hikes in addition to the portages. Morgan Lake EP and Meeds Lake EP both have more permits available and you can get to the same general area however you start off with a very long portage on both - but if you are looking for hikes...either might be a good fit. Have a great trip! |

08/06/2022 10:27PM Suggestions on a 4 day trip for intermediate outdoorsman. Highlights of trip would include a moose sighting, some hiking, and decent fishing (just to catch a dinner meal.) Have all our own gear and are avid outdoors people. Thanks in advance! |
