Hog Creek entry to Perent. Easy to get to, very limited portaging unless the water is low on the creek and you have a beaver dam or two to pull over.

Should be able to catch walleye pretty consistent and I'd think the others on your list would be there.

Hey DeanD2,

With what you've expressed my vote would be for Ensign. Having been to both I think there is better fishing for numbers and size for pike, smallies, and walleye in Ensign itself. Two short portages should meet your "doable" standard as they are both simple and easy. Several other threads with fishing advice for Ensign specifically but we have fished there and done well with leeches, trolling, and casting bucktails or spoons along the shores. Ensign is a good fishery, in my opinion.

The Kawishiwi has good fishing, don't get me wrong, and we did well there last summer. But it wasn't as productive as Ensign.

Good luck and enjoy the trip!

Hey all!

Planning a September trip for fishing pike, smallies and hopefully walleye. I recently had some physical limitations put on me so portaging is doable, but not optimum.

Two of us. My sixth time in, along with a first timer. Any past experiences for these two areas? We’ll be up for four nights. Looking to base camp and day trip.

Thanks!
